Pete Stevens Presents At Railtex

Peter Stevens - Solutions Sales Manager for Terram will speak at Railtex about Trackbed Geosynthetics Terram Stand C05 - Railtex 2017

TERRAM Solutions Sales Manager Pete Stevens will give a 30-minute technical talk on ‘Geosynthetics for Trackbed Applications’ at the Railtex exhibition in May.

TERRAM geosynthetics are typically employed for four uses in trackbed construction; separation of adjacent soil types, filtration, drainage and reinforcement.

Pete will outline the key considerations for using geosynthetic products within rail applications, and how a variety of grade and product choices can deliver customisable performance on preventing sub-grade erosion and loss of rail track alignment.

The presentation will also reference the many benefits that geosynthetics can bring to rail infrastructure projects. These include extending track lifetimes, reducing maintenance, environmental advantages – including carbon footprint reduction - and accelerating possession times through swift installation techniques.

Geosynthetics have been widely used within trackbed applications for more than a quarter of a century, and Pete will also touch on how product design and new manufacturing techniques have resulted in recent advancements in product performance.

A 10-minute question and answer session will enable the audience to quiz Pete on specific elements of his presentation and the wider use of geosynthetics in rail.

Pete is speaking at 2.30pm on Tuesday, May 9th at Railtex at the NEC in Birmingham.
