Protectamesh™ HD rockshield mesh is a heavy duty thick pipeline protection mesh manufactured by Terram for protecting pipeline coatings from rock backfills. Protectamesh™ HD Rockshield acts as a rock guard padding around the pipes during and after backfill operations by cushioning the impact of rocks which can cause damage to the pipe coating and result in the corrosion of the pipeline. Protectamesh™ HD rockshield offers high compression strength and resistance to destructive forces, both during and after the backfill operations. Rockshield mesh is essential for projects where pipelines will be constructed in rocky terrain.

Protectamesh™ HD rock shield pipeline protection mesh is a three dimensional bi-planar extruded diamond structured mesh manufactured from high-density polyethylene. The plastic mesh offers a consistent thickness throughout the width of each roll or pad to provide full width protection to the pipeline during backfill operations minimising holidays (pipeline coating damage) that can cause corrosion. Protectamesh™ HD rockshield rock guard mesh offers protection from abrasive objects after installation, prohibiting geologic movements from damaging your pipeline.

Protectamesh™ HD rockshield is flexible for easy handling, even at low temperatures and is chemically inert ensuring that plastic mesh will not rot. The open plastic mesh design allows the flow of water around the pipe for cathodic protection.

Protectamesh™ HD rockshield offers a higher compression strength, greater impact resistance, greater impact and tensile strength, while maintaining half the weight of the competition

Protectamesh™ HD rockshield pipe protection mesh can be installed in three methods using either ‘Longitudinal wrapping’ (fig.a), ‘Latitudinal wrapping’ (fig.b) or ‘Spiral wrapping’ (fig.c) and secured by means of polypropylene strapping as shown by the diagram below.
