Community

Farleigh Hospice

Mental Health & Wellbeing

Farleigh Hospice

We’ve been helping Farleigh Hospice since 2003. Since 1982, Farleigh has been providing hospice care to people affected by life-limiting illnesses and bereavement across mid Essex.

As part of our fundraising, we’ve organised multiple sponsored events, personal donations and individual challenges over the years. With our help and the support of the community and companies of the mid-Essex, Farleigh Hospice is able to provide its services for free.

Their services are very costly and the local NHS only funds around 38% of their costs. Therefore, community support through donations and fundraising is vital to meet the over £16,500 it costs to provide their services every day to more than 10,000 people.

With a small team and an increasing demand, any help makes a real difference to support and help those who need it most. That’s why at TERRAM we feel very honoured to support Farleigh and will continue to do so in the upcoming years.

Macmillan’s Cancer Support

We are very proud to participate in the Macmillan’s Coffee Mornings. Macmillan Cancer Support is a British charity that offers emotional, physical and financial support to people affected by cancer.

Every September we host a cake baking competition where the team bakes cakes and pastries to raise funds for a great cause.

The first Macmillan Coffee Morning took place back in 1990, with a simple idea: for guests to gather for coffee and a chat and donate the cost of their cup to Macmillan’s. Since then, it has become the biggest fundraising event for McMillan, and the biggest world’s biggest coffee morning, raising over £275 million for the cause.

Anyone can host a coffee morning. It’s a nice way to gather for coffee, cake and a catch-up while helping those facing cancer live their life as fully as possible.

Collaborating with our community is very important to us. Last year we were very proud to raise £270, a donation that TERRAM matched, raising a total of £540 for Macmillan. Our donation could pay for a Macmillan Social Care Worker for a week, helping patients, family members and carers manage the social and practical problems of living with cancer.

Mental Health & Wellbeing

Here at TERRAM, we actively promote mental health and well-being.

We have 9 diverse employees who have completed the Adult Mental Health First Aid 2-day training, and we share activities, events and awareness through our Health & Well-being Champions.

We partner with Working Well, Essex County Council and have reached 2-star accreditation for our commitment to this programme.
