PW1 TRACKBED SEPARATOR – Beaulieu Park Station (Network Rail)

Beaulieu Park is the first railway station to be built on the Great Eastern Main Line for over 100 years.  Due to be completed in 2025, it will provide essential transportation infrastructure required for housing and economic expansion to Chelmsford city’s north. 

Crucially, it will ease congestion at Chelmsford station, minimise automobile travel into the city, lower congestion on local roads, and help in reducing pollution while making travelling into London faster and more convenient.

As a vital link between Chelmsford, Braintree, London Stansted Airport, and the outlying areas, Beaulieu Park will increase railway access by providing regular connections to the capital in just 40 minutes from London Liverpool Street station, and other places in the east England. 

The Solution

In the trackbed construction, Network Rail specified the use of the TERRAM PW1 trackbed separator to maintain separation between the sand/subgrade and ballast layers. 

Terram PW1 trackbed separator prevents the upward movement of fine sub-grade particles and the intermixing of ballast with the blanket, which might otherwise compromise track stability and performance.

Terram PW1 Trackbed separator is suitable for use in good quality granular formations, as well as clays and silts formations in conjunction with a sand blinding.
