The A483 is a very busy arterial route through Powys, Wales. To improve the safety and amenity of the Four Crosses community, the Welsh Assembly government appointed Alun Griffiths Limited to build a by-pass around the village. The scheme will improve the links between Mid Wales and the English trunk road network and also improve journey time reliability between north and south Wales.

As part of the scheme, 4 storm water collection and settlement lagoons were constructed. These were lined with an impermeable geomembrane which was then protected from the backfill material by TERRAM RG19 Robust Geotextile. TERRAM supplied their geotextile to specialist installer Celtic Lining Limited who also installed the geomembrane on behalf of the main contractor, Alun Griffiths Limited.
