TERRAM’s Macmillan Coffee Morning 2019

5 September 2019

We are very proud to participate and support Macmillan’s World Biggest Coffee Mornings.  Every September we host a cake baking competition where we bake cakes and pastries to raise funds for a fantastic cause.

The first Macmillan Coffee Morning took place back in 1990, with a simple idea: guests to gather for coffee and a chat, and donate the cost of their cup to Macmillan.  Ever since then it has become the biggest fundraising event for Macmillan and the biggest world’s biggest coffee morning, raising over £275 million for the cause.

The best part is anyone can host a coffee morning!  It’s a nice way to gather for coffee, cake and a catch up while helping those facing cancer live their lives as fully as possible.  We offer a prize for the best tasting and best decorated cake which gets taken very seriously by our panel of judges!

Collaborating with our community is very important to us.  Last year we were very proud to raise £270, a donation that TERRAM matched, raising a total of £540 for Macmillan.

Our donation could pay for a Macmillan Social Care Worker for a week, helping patients, family members and carers manage the social and practical problems of living with cancer.

“This is an annual event that everyone really looks forward to, we make sure that all our shifts have the chance to get involved and the efforts made never cease to amaze me.”  – Tricia Kenneley, HR Manager

To top that off, we had a great time trying all the cakes, including a great Oreo cheesecake that took the price for Best Tasting, and a beautiful rainbow cake that took Best Decorated home.
