Product Solutions

The brief was to create a hard-standing, permeable surface suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs and vehicles while solving surface water issues on the site. The spec included a layer of Tensar Triax TX160 Geogrid followed by TERRAM T1000 Geotextile underneath a 300mm type 3 sub base. On top of this was another layer of TERRAM T1000 Geotextile.

BODPAVE™85 was used on the entire frontage of Heckington Windmill and chosen due to its low carbon footprint, ease of installation and its ability to accept both vehicle and pedestrian traffic without gravel migration. BODPAVE™85 provided a cost-effective, sustainable, porous drainage system robust enough to support the weight of parked cars and stabilising the surface layer of architectural gravel.
